Maintaining your entity: What you need to know about Nominee Services
In this episode of Coffee with Carl, attorney Carl Zoellner covers everything you need to know about maintaining your entity and nominee services.Â
It’s the final countdown…Â
Well, of this little entity series.Â
And to keep with the traditional theme, let’s skip the ice breakers.Â
Here’s what you need to know about the unlimited nominee service.Â
If you’re using our nominee service (which is essentially one of our attorney’s names listed as the nominee for your business entity) there can be an annual cost to maintain that nominee service and continue using that name.Â
And the reason is because you’re using one of our attorneys as your nominee, and there’s a filing to update on an annual basis (usually it’s pretty minimal).Â
In a nutshell, that’s the nominee service.Â
It’s using someone else who’s not you, on either an entity or maybe even a land trust. This is just one other factor to consider for annual renewals.Â
The TakeawayÂ
If you have additional questions and are already a client, feel free to ask those questions of your advisor attorney, even folks on our business continuity team can help you with that. Also, if you need a breakdown of those things, please let us know.Â
